Symptom
Google Drive for desktop shows files as “Waiting to upload” or the progress does not move.
Cause
The most common causes are a full storage quota, a file name or file that Drive cannot handle, a paused sync, or a network or proxy that blocks the connection.
Quick fix
- Check your storage. Make sure the account still has free space.
- Check that sync is not paused. Open the Drive icon and resume syncing if needed.
- Look for problem files. Open the sync activity and rename or move any file that shows an error.
- Restart the app. Quit Drive for desktop from the icon menu and open it again.
Advanced fix
Sign out of the account in the app settings and sign in again. If the problem remains, update Drive for desktop to the latest version, or uninstall and reinstall it. Your files stay in the cloud.
